We constructed this beautiful coastal landscape at the Strait Home, an energy-efficient home designed by The Sociable Weaver at the multi-award winning The Cape estate in Cape Paterson.
The landscape features sandstone crazy-paved patio and boulder seating, rustic sleeper steppers interplanted with groundcovers, rust coloured Formboss garden edging, pebbled pathways and earthy toned boulders dotted throughout the landscape to accentuate the coastal setting.
Biofilta Foodcube wicking beds, a low water use system for easily growing food, were planted with an array of herbs and produce to sustain the homeowners with a vast array of fresh and organic produce.
Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) elements were considered in this design with an interlocking paving construction to the driveway that slows water run-off by infiltrating between the paving gaps, soaking into the ground and watering the groundcovers planted between. Thereby reducing the storm water surges, pollutant loads and subsequent erosion to surrounding rivers and streams.
