TSLC designed and constructed two installations of Foodcubes wrapped with customised vinyl wraps for the City of Port Phillip, in St Kilda and Port Melbourne. Utilising Biofilta’s slim Foodcube wicking beds, the modular garden beds were installed in pairs and planted out with Australian native plants. The beds were wrapped with Biofilta’s corten-look cladding panels and finished with custom vinyl wrapping. A portion of the potting mix used to fill the slim Foodcubes was recycled coffee grounds, providing a practical solution to reducing food waste and contributing to the circular economy. The wicking beds are self-watering, low maintenance installations that help to brighten the streetscape in the City of Port Phillip and increase urban biodiversity.
